Did you buy it from the Arizona custom knife site? The description says red spacers, but I wonder what kind? They almost glow

I bought it recently at a local shop . Wasn't really
familiar with Hess knives but like I said the handle
really sold me . Maybe some kind of wood laminate ?
Has an iridescent quality and color changes at different angles .

Since it wasn't actively raining today, I spent some more time with the billhook in hand. Good times!

Had some tea with the Kelly Kettle today.
Brought my oldest fixed blade, bought with my dad when I was around the age of 10 iirc? A bolt knife, no brand or steel markings, it has shown tiny spots of rust in the past, so not a stainless. Stacked leather handle that fit good in the hand and looks and feels nice imho.


Found a nice spot, tied Grim to a rock because he was chasing rabbits every time I blinked my eyes

Used the bolt knife to split the sticks some more and make some nice thin curly feathersticks while enjoying the view in the sun

that should be enough to light the kettle

It amazes me every time how easily charcloth catches a spark

Not long before we have fire

Looks like a pilots survival knife. I've always been fond of them, even if I don't use the one I have

Out for afternoon tea with Grim today, nice and sunny over here.
Brought the Enzo Elver and the Firebox Nano in my pack.

Split some birch sticks to a decent size

Then carved some curls and feathersticks to get the fire going

Small wood chunks and pieces of birchbark in the stove should make a tiny inferno in no time

Used flint and steel on a piece of charcloth to blow my feathersticks into flames

Placed them on top of the stove and enjoy the flames

Put my mug on with water and waited a bit

Grim was killing time with a snack

And we have a boil

And tea is ready

We had a good time out
