Fixed Blades

Top is a skinner my dad made. I've used it for a lot of years as an outdoors/deerskinner knife. Bottom is the fighter he made me that I carried in Afghanistan. Haven't got any pictures in my online account of knives I've made.

I like looking at these fixed blades...it's a nice change of pace. I'll try and post mine when my dang camera starts working. Keep'm coming.

I'm a big fixed blade fan, in fact one of the reason why I use slippies more than locking knives is that I always have a fixed blade or two within arms reach so I don't need my folders to lock.

I've got quite a few that can be considered traditional, I tend to favour drop point or spear point blades around 4" long, made from carbon steel. Most of them are made by Mariano Gugliotta (www.mgblades.com) a great knifemaker, and a good friend. Here are some pics of a couple of my knives:

Here's a couple I had lying around handy for a photo-op. The light wasn't that great, sorry. The first is an unknown maker PIC stamp, if anyone wants pictures of the stamps I can post those as well, and the second is a J.C. Higgins.
