Recommendation? Fixed EDC, good slicer, rust proof

I believe the Guardian 3 still comes in N690, which I think would work very well for you. It’s close to VG10, but I do believe VG10 is more stainless(VG10 is more stainless than most other stainless steels). Plus the N690 models are cheaper than the M390/3V models.

Look at Boker Cub. It is 2.5mm thick and 95mm blade length. Maybe a bit longer than you wanted. They may have something else. Also look at Moki. They make great slicers.

Thanks, lot of good suggestions in this thread

Stretching budget a bit but my vote goes to the Benchmade Altitude. I voted with my wallet.

Hahaha, too expensive for a knife blade:D. At least for me. I use EDC a lot, comfortable handle is a must.

Check out Boker Arbolito. They have a few great blade designs, and their steel is pretty simple, easy to maintain, but tough and great stainless properties.

Otherwise I would definitely check out all the usual suspects from Europe; Karesuando, Castrom, EKA, Maserin, Mora, Helle, Marttiini, even Fox/BlackFox, all make a pretty decent quality blade, and you may find better deals on them being a bit more local to your region?

if you want truly amazing slicing, there is a mora in stainless (12c27 sandvik which is great imho) and is only 0.05" thick... seriously - and it's like $20

Got the Enzo - beautiful little knife, love it already! Thanks for recommendation.

Unfortunately finding a Spiderco in LC200N here in EU is almost impossible, so I'll probably get a guardian 3 in M390 as I'm bit of a steel junkie.

Cold Steel makes some of their knives in 4116 Krupp which to my limited knowledge on steels is pretty close to what Victorinox uses so it should be very rust resistant.

Their Roach Belly knife looks like it be decently slicey.

Boker Urban Trapper which is done in VG-10 stainless steel. Under $100 in the US. I have one and like it a lot. It is not a hard use knife however; not delicate, but the slim handle may make rigorous tasks a bit more unpleasant.

Oops... notice that you did say "fixed" although I didn't read the title to indicate a fixed blade initially. I would look at the Boker and Lionsteel lines.

That Enzo is a nice looking knife, Bobe. Tell us how you like it after you've put it to use.

So far, I like everything on this knife. It's size, blade shape, ergonomy, design... It's a great little cutter, wasn't very sharp when arrived but I'm gonna try to fix that

Roach Belly is a nice cutter. I have pressed mine into kitchen duty.
