Anyone else interested? I really like this knife, but for most the time it seems like a lot to carry in your pocket compared to an Endura for the negligible advantage the knife has. I'd like to see how it would work out as a fixed blade myself.

the Temperance was pretty close to what you are talking about. It didn't sell well because they don't make it anymore. It was the only fixed blade that I would consider buying. I picked one up once and it felt good in the hand but I knew I wouldn't use it so I had to pass.

I'll have to try out a Temperance sometime if I can find one when it's convenient for me and see what I think. It's probably lighter than the Manix too.

Much lighter. The Temperance has a partial tang and FRN handle, which despite being the very reason I'd guess it didn't sell well, are the two features which make it almost weightless for a fixed blade.

I love the Temp, best fixed blade Spyderco has made in my opinion.

I'd agree with comments above. The Temperance is for all intents and purposes the same as the Manix. I prefer the Temperance myself. I do wish it had a choil, but since it is more of a combative weapon than a tool, it makes sense why that isn't there.

Nearly identical and slightly different? Those two two terms are almost alike? :D

Perhaps I didn't state it clearly. The Mule blade is nearly identical to the fixed blade Temperance. A fixed Manix would look slightly different. The only similarity is the leaf blade.

Just kiddin around. I agree that the mule looks more like the Temp than the Manix. Maybe after a few hundred sharpenings it'll look more like a Manix. :)

Not the way I sharpen, it'll only take 10 sharpenings for me:eek: :p
