Fixed or Folder?

Folders IMHO. Most are strong enough to handle day to day utility needs. and if you stay away from the wild tactical stuff, never an eye is raised. For personal defense, a fixed is best due to it's stronger construction however if you truely fear for your well being......buy a gun.

It may not be right, but it's how I feel

As to the Question, I carry production folders at work. I carry fixed when I am playing.

Folders can be Fixed, just take them to a repair shop to be welded open.

Fixed.
My current favorite being the Griffith SUB Texan. Most of the time it is neck carry, but other times I carry it in my right front pocket, tied to the belt loop. It is small enough to ride there unnoticeable to anyone (including myself). When I use it, it is small enough that no-one realizes it is a fixed blade, unless they see or hear the sheath. I'd have to say that it is my favorite knife, simply because of the size if for no other reason. This is in the company of a Simonich Cetan, which falls from the number 1 spot simply because it isn't as easy to carry in the pocket.
