Fixed the izula problems... updated with new pics

Very nice looking!

It actually looks like a different knife. (Though it does look like you sanded the finish off, which can't be good for the blade... Is the ant still there?)

All the marks are still there just very faint but they do show in the reflection when changing the angle of he blade. Had to in order to get it down to a good finish for the patina to look good without all the minor pitting underneath the coating.

There are a lot of spray and bake metal paints i would look in to but then you lose the markings........ Awesome wood handles for that izula.

I think you did a wonderful job!!

When you get to the point where you're ready to do them for other

people let me know, I dig em!!

Well, I just "undid" my 550 wrap for the Micarta. I have to say I love the extra handle material, but in addition, I have better use of the finger hole which makes a lot of difference to me. But hey, keep making 'em. I can do 2 Izula's that ain't the same. The other with those nice full tang cover handles.

No, I mean filework over the existing jimping to give it more of a rustic mountain man look, instead of a machined one.

OIC. well i was tempted to do file vinework up the back of the spine but decided to save that for further down the road once i practice on some el cheapo barstock from ace.

It never ceases to amaze me the amount of talent I find here. I wish some would rub off on me cuz that looks sweet!

Just started planning the sheath setup. Can't decide what style to make. Kinda leaning toward a belt sheath that doubles as a necker with matching cocobolo firesteel. Contemplating a kydex liner for it. Got the patina finished last night and will take pictures tomorrow since at work for 24 hours.

That is the prettiest Izula I've seen. You have inspired me to buy an Izula without scales then get some wood and start shaping it. I think I'll also look for screws to make the scales removable with hidden storage like a H.E.S.T. Thanks for the inspiration!

Www.texasknife.com should have everything you need including the stuff for removable scales.

Very nice! Wood doesn't work as a knife handle for me personally, but I love to see other people's creations with it.

Any thoughts on a sheath style? I am thinking about going with the leather wrapped kydex (similar to the martin sheaths)

Man that is a sweet job! I think I might do something like that when I get the time. Definitely worth doing.

A nod's as good as a wink to a blind man.;)
