What would work as a suggestion. I'm currently staying with my wife's grandmother and all my bali repair supplies are in storage. I got me some new nails (hated to buy a new box but hey at a $1.13 a pound who could say no) and a hack saw to cut the nails down but other than that I'm SOL. Supposedly her grandma has a hammer but I doubt it's ball peen (Wal-Mart didn't have any) and I know she has no razor blades. Now I've done this before so I know the technique works but not sure abot the improves.

I bet you could do it with those tools. I did (but I used my Dremel instead of a saw). I just hit the pin at different angles to flatten and round it out. Worked fine!

Yeah, go for it. You have enough tools to get the job done.

If you've done the fix before, then you can skip the razor blades. Just make sure to keep checking after each tap to make sure you don't over do it.

And the regular hammer will work too. Just take Darth's suggestion (move as you tap).

Yep worked fine although the hacksaw would have taken me forever but I found out my Leatherman Wave cut through the nails just fine (not as good as my dremmel but it worked). Last time I did replaced pins it came out almost as good as new but this time it came out much better than new (it did turn out that I got it a little tight but I fixed it and lubed it up real nice.) Of course since I had it apart I went ahead and flatten out the tang pin a bit to allow it to latch open and there you have it better than new. The claw hammer was a little more difficult because it's easier to bend the nail but it worked out fine. I also had thought about switching the handles but at the last second decided to leave it the way it was.

Thanks guys,
