Flame anodizing aluminum?

Okay, so I just flame anodized a titanium delica clip I bought from someone in the forum (whoever you are, I love this clip, it's the only reason I still carry this knife)

Anyways, the results were stellar, and I know you can flame anodize aluminum to some extent. This has me looking at my Kershaw knockout in green OD somewhat excitedly.

Can it be done?

As I understand, you remove the anodizing with acetone and a scrubber. But all the anodizing I see for aluminum is chemical/electrical. I prefer the natural and varied look from flame anodizing. Anyone doing flame anodized aluminum scales?
