flared tube handle pins????

Something I found out when doing mine: spend the $35 or so and get a real tubing cutter. It's by far the easiest way to get a clean, straight cut. I also chamfer the inside of the tube a bit after cutting to length.

I just grind the tube flush after glue up and then flare.

Glue the tubes in during scale glue-up but do not get glue in the chamfer

Grind tube flush with a clean finish, lightly countersink the end and deburr

Flare

The key is to get the hole the right depth. Look at some flared tubes ant the counterbore depth is always close... I just go by hole size.

There are a few good ways to do this, that is just my way...

Cleaner and better is cleaner and better. I think the last ones I flared weren't seemless because there is a very fine and even line running on the inside that only showed up after I flared and was given a peek at what was going on in the inside of the tube. I remember tubes being advertised as seemless and now I know I have to make certain of what it is before I order more.

Thank you! Frankly, I was cynical during the process & happily surprised by the results. Since the knife required a trip back to the Cerakote folks because of a minor flaking issue, I don't yet have the scales (re)reattached yet. I'll post a photo upon its return. As for .35" working for .25" tubing? I have no idea, mostly 'cause BBs aren't that "caliber". But, if the tubing is brass, my guess would be... yes.
