Flaring thong hole tubing?

hey guys. Just curious about the way you guys flare the thong hole tubing on your handles? you know, how to do it so there is no rough edges around the edges of the tubing when you attach it? thanks

The only time I flare tubing is on micarta.Be sure and countersink your handle material so you have some place for the metal to go. I just cut the heads off a couple of machine screws and use my bench vice,lube with a little light oil and practice on some scrap to get the feel of how much pressure to use.
On wood and bone handles i just glue the tube in and the countersink it,looks flared but no chance of cracking a nice piece of wood.

Just use a tapered punch. A few taps on one side, then the other. Easy.

yea, pretty much what i thought. I appreciate the help. Now at least i know i am not doing it wrong.
