I like almost everything about the flash 2. For the size of the blade IMO it's very light. I EDC either the flash 1 or 2 but its the 2 I find in my pocket more and more. I do a lot of squatting at work and I still never notice its in my pocket until I reach for it. I'm not a big guy at about 5'10" 145lbs and I don't feel its too big for my pocket.
I think the shape of it helps. It's fairly flat and there are no parts on it that get hung up as I take it out of my pocket. I like the flat blade release and the size/height of the thumb studs. I also love the clip design.
It works well for me but if you can't get used to it try out the flash 1. Very small, extremly light but not too small or weak for what I use it for.
I have noticed this too, the handle thickness really starts to become noticeable especially later in the day. This is one of the reasons I do not carry this knife much anymore (at least not edc) it usually sits as a backup in my bag.
