Flash Lock Release - rattle, rattle, rattle

Just got my first SOG, a Flash II. Construction and materials seem OK, but man the piston lock release is REAL sloppy and flops and rattles around. This is especially apparent when the blade is in the closed position. Is this normal? Or is there a defect with my knife?

I would think that a manufacturer with a reputation like SOG would at least put a small tension spring in the lock release to position it in place rather than leave it flop around the length of its track.

Any advice??

TT2Toes,
There is no spring retention when the blade is in the closed position, only when open.
The lock release does move when the blade is closed. This is in the nature of the design... I haven't raken one apart to se if an extra spring could even be added; it really depends on the set-up.

Thanks Bobby B
This is disappointing to hear. Guess I'll have to learn to live with it. In retrospect, I think I prefer the conventional liner lock to the piston lock found in the SOG Flash II.

Otherwise the knife seems pretty good.
