I see a lot of fellow CPF handles here so I know there are other flashaholics! There are some threads for specific flashlight recommendations and such, but I also thought a general catch-all thread for flashlight pictures, mod projects, stories, questions and more might be fun and useful. Hopefully other junkies or those just getting interested will find it so.

I’ll just start with a pic of what I carried tonight at a friend’s bonfire. Oveready BOSS E Series head on a Malkoff 18650 MDC to E body. Nichia 219b/red secondary. 2000 lumens was plenty to light up all the kids tearing around the yard in the dark.

What do you do with the old ones? I have a wide variety of lights, incandescent and LED, and modding parts for Maglites. I've ended up now with a good group of EDC Fenix lights so none of the old stuff gets used. For normal use I carry a PD25 to the office, and I use a PD35 or PD36R when I need a good light around the house. I also have a PD22 and PD32 in convenient places around my office and den if I need a light and don't have another one handy.

I give them to friends or family. 3 of my buddies thought carrying a flashlight was unnecessary but now don’t leave the house without one in their pocket.

Absolutely, but that’s not quite what I was talking about. The stuff I’ve given away is single cell daily carry type lights, most in the $25-$75 range.

Sounds like it might be time for some modding! In the old days hotwire incans were all the rage.

Just got another new old light yesterday. Surefire C3 hard anodized.



Been carrying these ones at work for a while. Malkoff MD3/M91BW drop in with hi/low ring. Surefire c3 that I swap between an incandescent bulb and malkoff LED’s. Today it has a malkoff M61WL.

Been getting way into lights lately.
Current EDC is a
Emisar D4S2 with a XPL HI 4000k emitter set.
And I ordered the D4SV2 dual channel this week. Along with a KR1 with a w1 emitter.

My surefire tactician with lumens factory deep carry clip and a washer under the tailcap so it can stay tightened down and has just the momentary operation.
