What recommendations or reviews of each. Any other models better?
That is exactly what I EDC. I got my ARC AAA back in January 02 and its been on my keychain ever since. I dont think ill ever change, unless I lose it somehow. Im not liking the new way ARC laser etches the name vertically. Very compact and rugged and if youre ever in a situation where you need the light for a long time, you can attach the head of the light onto a "D" size battery cell for extended runtime (still 1.5 volts). I got over 120 hours when I tested it out and it was still going. I even made a holder for it (toilet paper tube and electrical tape). Ive been carrying the G2Z since March this year and it still looks like new. I also have the P61 lamp for it, although I dont think the sacrifice is worth it for 20 minute runtime. You can see the runtime test I did below with the P61 lamp. The flashlight was extremely hot when it went off because of thermal shutdown. Ill have to try the P60 lamp someday. The reason I picked the G2Z over the other SureFire lights was because there were no negetive reviews, lightweight because of the nitrolin, combat grip, pyrex lens, LOTC, and very tough. Even if you got a G2 for $25, add another $25 for the bezel, then cost of LOTC, you still dont have the combat grip. I got mine for $63 shipped. I didnt buy a pouch for it and dont intend to because it fits comfortabably in my LF pocket. The only problem with this is that if you have too big of a pocket, the light will lay sort of horizontal. To add onto my EDC things, im ordering a Benchmade 705 and 556 Mini Griptilian (gonna take a chunk out my money saved for a SureFire M6
Arc AAA with D cell.
