Often I have more than one fire steel loop available when I go out. (Sometimes more than two:D:D)
I thought it might me a good idea to attach a flashlight to one of the extra loops.
What lights have people tried that have worked well with fire steel loops? Should I go for brightness or battery life?
Thanks,
Ira

The mini mag light, 1aaa version, works good n a firesteel loop. You might have to work it in, but they will fit in the leather ones ive tried. A streamlight nano will fit too, I would use it as a backup light, so they are bright enough, and run a while.

Fenix E01, Arc AAA, Gerber Sonic AAA - all would probably work. All give better light than the mag solitaire.

I'd also say the Fenix EO1, it's tough and water resistant and a great price;
and I'd say battery life would be more important (which it excels at).

I was able, with a wetted tapered dowel, to swell the fire steel sheath on a KSF pocket sheath to hold a 2xAAA River Rock/Nuwaii LED flashlight. Not blinding, but quite effective for a $10 purchase at Target. The sheath was $25 - the Knife, a Bark River Huntsman is ~$120, and the light is $10.

I don't know if it will fit in your firesteel loop, but I have been extremely happy with the Pentagonlight Molle light. It is pretty small and might fit. Pretty tough, bright, functional, cheap; all on one AA battery.

The Peak “Matterhorn” 3 LED flashlight is very bright, has good run time, and with a little stretching will fit in most Firesteel loops.

It also fits into a Kydex Firesteel loop I have as an accessory on a Custom Sharpshooter Sheath Systems Kydex sheath.
