Flashlight for night dog walks

Is it true, that when these lights are on high for a extended time they tend to heat up.

Yes, I had one on during a power outage one night at work. It was constantly on for 2 hours and it felt uncomfortably hot (Fenix TK10). It worried me a bit, but then again we had a life safety issue that was more urgent at the time. No one wants to lose equipment though.

What you do not want to do is leave the light on and rest it facing down on the bezel. That heat can and will damage the circuitry I've read. Flashlights are essential and you'll soon find that you have a use for the high quality ones for work as well as after work. Give the Four Sevens website a look if you haven't already. For lumens anything above 80 would be great for nightly walking.

I just bought the Fenix pd35 got on sale.
And I ended up getting some other goodies.
Thanks for everyone's input.
Any got a Fenix pd35.

I have the older PD30. Good little light, I have had mine for years and it keeps on kickin! I am pretty sure my dad still has one as well, looks beat, but it still works and I am pretty sure he still carries it. For the price its a heck of a light!
