Flashlight options?

Check out suprabeam lights, I own one of their big ones (q7xr) and I've been very impressed with it. The thing is ridiculously bright. Mine is powered by a rechargeable Li-ion battery but some of their smaller lights are AA and AAA powered. Lee Valley tools sells them, not sure who else.

I just got a Fenix E12 from REI. It uses one AA and has low, med and high settings w/a tail switch. It can reach 130 lumens w/a NIMH battery. I also like the Streamlight Pro Tac AAA light as my EDC.

I know im late to the party but I recommend looking at the Duracell Durabeam Ultra. It has two flashlight per pack, is 500 lumins each and feature a high beam, low beam and strobe settings and they run on 3 C batteries each and can be had for around $30 (I got mine for $20 at Costco). Probably not the greatest quality on the market but for 2 500 lumin flashlights for around $30 they're hard to beat.

And hey, if you are looking for a big chunky light, can't go too wrong there. Its kinda too bad D and C lights have fallen out of favor. not many companies still do them in the mid-high end. most of Pelicans C and D LEDs are just conversions of their xenon lights, but I guess when you've spent the cash for MASHA cert and have a locked in customer base, its not like anyone else is going to jump in much. I still love how long my LED 2Dmag runs for, not pretty, but it doesn't get lost in the junk drawer!

Hey ya'll , need some advice. Looking for a quality flashlight with the following: high output, compact, uses AA or AAA batteries, preferably with an LED bulb. Suggestions? Thanks! :D
Fenix E12, 130 lumens, 3 settings, uses on 1 AA battery, pictured here with the Bugout 535 for size comparison...

What were you searching, that you found this 3.5 yr old thread & felt compelled to post?

Not disputing that the E12 is a great light... but I certainly don't consider it high output in today's market
