Flashlight suggestions

I'm torn between that Foursevens Quark and the Surefire G2. Are any of these USA made?

Ah I see thanks. I'll probably take it anyway, I think I'd prefer to have a pocket clip.

They come with a clip and a holster and a lanyard. They also sell a deep carry clip for like $7. I wish knife companies had that option.

Don't forget to look at Eagletac.

+1!

I have a P20C2MKII and a D25C - both are wonderful, tough, useful lights. I've EDC'd each for a few months, and still use them constantly. If I had to give up my customs, I would happily carry either of them all day, every day again.
In my experience, they have been more dependable than my 4-sevens (which are good lights.) I've never had a problem with the EagleTacs coming on when I don't want them to, or not coming on when I do.

SureFire are USA made.
They are fantastic lights, though not exactly pocket-size. Lots of makers out there supply different light engines if you want more brightness or more modes.

Yep, u.s. based company but produced overseas. I've been using their stuff since they first opened their doors. Good company. Nutnfancy has interacted with the owner a few times and posted on youtube.

oh good one. do your homework, some of the light in the market get really hot under max lunes!

I also went with the FOURSEVENS Quark Tactical model. I found the best price on Amazon, but I may grab the deep carry clip. I'm not sure if I'll want/need it yet.

I like streamlight. I have a stylus pro (2xaaa) and a junior led (2xaa) both have tail push switches with momentary on and came with belt sheath and a clip. The main thing I like about them is there is NO functions. They are on or off. No hi, low, strobe, sos. Simple is better for me.

Those small or medium sized mag lights are very good. My only problem with them is that they tend to heat up if you leave them turned on a while and I use flash lights all the time for my job. But it easily fits in my pocket and would buy another one in a second.

I was at Lowes the other day and noticed they have some newer models in.... Lux-Pro. Purchased the LP600 model (230 lumens) which has 5 settings. Three power settings and two strobe settings. It was priced at $25 and took it to the cash register and they gave a $10 discount. I thought... Cool! Figured it might do the trick for my work stuff as I use flashlights all the time, essentially every job. It seemed to work fine at first and then I noticed it would not turn on or would not adjust settings (with the button). Tightening and loosening the ends help, but still not predictably reliable. So, I wanted to let folks know that perhaps this one is not a great one. It is belt sized. Will continue to use it, but will keep a backup. Haven't made up my mind about it. But it is certainly powerful and cost effective. Not one you would likely choose for EDC due to the size, but its an okay size for my work stuff.

I'm far more of a knife guy than a light guy, so I'm in need of a little help. I'd like a nice light that is on the larger end of the EDC scale, with decent battery life and a push button on the end cap. I'd prefer not to spend over $50 on it. Any ideas?

What kind of battery do you want to use? AA/ AAA/ CR123? One or two cells?

*If you want a 1xAA, check out the Fenix LD12.
*If you want a 1xCR123, check out the Fenix PD22.

Alternately, you can look at the Zebralight SC52... it's one of my favorites, by far.

I don't have an LD12, but I have a LD10 and it's great. I also own a PD22 and it's a great light, too.

I may get laughed at for this, but I have had zero problems with this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181205106416?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Lasts a long time on 1 AA and is very bright and it can also take a 14500 3.6v battery if you want to get all 300 lumens out of it. It's Chinese made but for the price it can't be beat. It has been durable, zooms, has 3 modes, and is water resistant (not waterproof though).

I always suggest the Zebralight when people ask about flashlights. Best light I have ever owned and anyone who owns one typically agrees. Check em out.

I actually have that one, used it daily for work. It worked great for 2 months, then it got temperamental and only worked whej it wanted to. I liked it when it was working though!

This flashlight thread got me thinking. I had looked for my favorite work light (a 120 Lumen C-cell light from Lowes (Utilitech brand)). I have a number of them and it appears Lowe's is probaby discontinuing them. Got on line and they were $11 where still available in the store. Picked up three (vs about $30 ea). I give these to my worker bees to use on the job when we need a light and they are big enough that you don't loose them easily.

I browsed what they had at the store and picked up a 320 Utilitech brand light that works a lot better than the LuxPro mentioned earlier. Remember, I like fairly good but fairly inexpensive flashlights. I like this one. Two brightness settings and a clip which I like.

I have many lights, and out of all of them I carry 2 of them the most. Eagletac D25a neutral clicky Ti with a sanyo eneloop. its small has a great clip and is up to 200 lumens. The other thing to think about it the low modes, you will most likely use them more often than the bright settings. The great thing about the eagletac d25 is you can super charge it with a 14500 li battery that will bump the lumens to almost 500. the other light I always carry is an Olight/foursevens penlight, its a 2xaaa and its 180 lumens on high, again with eneloops the run time is awesome. Its a simple, light, skinny penlight that packs a punch. 3 modes low med and high and is the sixe of a pen.
The eagletac d25 is the silver in the middle

Another vote for the Surefire G2. We've got several and they've performed flawlessly for years. Also a fan of the newer G2X.
