Flashlight

Yep... My 6p is about 4 years old, and it has been through hell and back, and still going strong. I even dropped it into a gas tank sump one night, and after wiping it off, it was good as new.

I agree with Dann about the one position switches. I want a light that is either off or on.

Is the 6p incandesent or LED? Or is the 6px the LED one? Being new I want to be sure I'm searching/pricing the correct models.

The 6P is the incandesent one...I'm not sure of the model number of the "6P" LED version...

If you're willing to spend $50 or so then I'd look at an Olight T20 Q5. I purchased one about a month ago and I'm highly impressed. The output makes my Surefire G2 and L4 look like children's toys.

I spent many hours researching different lights. Right now best bang for $ are Fenix lights. Surefires are nice but not cheap; I had several of them in the past and sold them. Their current LEDs are a little outdated in comparison with other brands, plus I'm not a fan of their new TIR lens of the models that I like since I prefer flood over throw.
As for Fenix I have TK40(it’s a light canon), P1D and PD31 that I just ordered is coming next week.
If you want to stay with AA battery I can highly recommend LD20 that is size of a mini mag lite and has excellent output with several brightness modes. It’s going to cost a little more than $30 but it’s way better than your old light. Check the Amazon or Fenixgear for the lowest prices I could find. On Amazon prices may vary a bit due to different led updates Q5,R2,R4 and newest R5 that were used in more recent lights but from my experience it’s nearly impossible to notice the difference.

Another loyal Surefire supporter here.

I prefer supporting local companies that employ locals. It's also nice knowing they make the finest illumination tools around.
I have just over a dozen of them and have owned more than that.

Absolutely save up and get your money's worth.

Sadly I have a bad disease where I want to buy many things I cannot afford, namely right now the SF E2DL at 165$...

Maybe someday

I'm suffering from the same problem with the same light.

If you're looking to save some money, Fenix is an outstanding value as many have mentioned, 4Sevens and their Quark Tactical line is another one that I would strongly suggest. The G2 from Surefire is another great value and I strongly suggest the LED version, you can't beat the runtime.
