Flashlights for 72 hour kits around $40 and under

I don't think I said it runs for 11hrs @ 80 lumens.

Personally, I like the taper on Surefires more then the Fenix lights. I also like the quality, beam pattern, and reliability of their lights. It is personal preference, and I would like to see Surefire step up the game a bit on the LED side of things.

Hey Josh, have you ever tried the Nitecore. It's an awesome little light. Give one a looksee if you feel like trying something a little different. For the record I love my Surefire 6P with an LED drop in. It puts out a nice little beam and is a great EDC light. The Nitecore is small enough to fit on your keychain though. Impressive little light.

Surefire, Fenix, iTP, ext are all higher quality lights then most of the poeple I camp with have. And I'm greatfull to everyone that has helped me put together my list. :)

IF there are other flashlights in the $50ish price range feel free to post them.

An Inova X5 is a great pack light. Those things will run for like 60 hours. Puts out enough light to find your way by too. I think something like 40 lumens. I've got several of them stashed in various bags. They always work and they last for a long long time on one pair of batteries.

I totally agree about the X5. Right now it is my pack light along with a headlamp. I carry it in a home made nylon case on the right shoulder strap of my day pack.

I'm planning to buy a few of the $40 lights on my list and compare them to my X5. Wondering which CR123A light at $40 will give the best bang for buck and am also wondering how the $40 AA lights will stack up.

Here's a runtime plot of the G2 LED... Less than 3 hours before it drops out of regulation:

The Nitecore EX10 and D10 are great little lights!
