Flashlights for EDC?

It really depends on your job, what your looking for out of a light, and what kind of weight your willing to carry. Most days i carry a 4/7s peron 1, and i love the preon two (but only with the flat cap buy separably) very light, fairly bright and simple UI, Fenix makes some of a similar form factor that i want to try for about a third of the cost. But as an EMT student i invested in a 4/7s Quark pro 2*123 slightly more complicated UI but a more capable light both lower and much higher than you can get out of a 1 cell. I used to carry a quark mini 123 EDC but because it carries in pocket, and not on a clip it was two bulky so that is now my head lamp light. You need to take a look at a couple things before simply buying a 75-80 dollars light that you stop carrying because it is to big or complicated or throw 20-30 dollars on a light that doesn't do what you need it to do.
of brads that i recommend, 4-7s, fenix, surefire, and led lenser (now owned by leatherman)

Right now I'm carrying a Streamlight Micro Stream. Got it for $15 at a gunshow. Single AAA, one mode (28 lumens), clickie tail cap. Pure simplicity. It goes everywhere I go, stick it through and clip it on my FR belt loop. I just ordered a Lumapower LM21 though. We'll see how it does. I love lights, always have- but I can't see spending gobs of money on an edc light. As long as it turns on and shines light that's as bright as I need it to be, that's all I need.

Fenix LD15. Impressive little powerhouse.

My current EDC is a Streamlight Stylus Pro, 2AAA.

Very nice light for just about everything.

There is more to consider than price when buying a EDC light, such as the beam pattern. Do you want it for long distance or close up or something in between. I have McGizmo Haiku that uses 2 AA's, can use standard or lithiums I always run the lithiums. The beam pattern on low will light up a dark room with enough light to read by and it will run for over 80 hours, I actually did a test on candle power with a similar light but his new ones like I have now are even better. You will pay for it though it will cost over $500.
