Flashlights

Um, can anyone be so kind to tell me how the maglites can be converted to LED? I have a minimag and a 5D cell monster. Would be wonderful to have to LEDized.

Just bought a princeton tec Aurora headlamp 2 days ago - nice, affordable, bright. It came with a bonus keychain LED light - having tried others including toollogic, I think the princeton tec keychain LED is the brightest for the money.

I have recently seen the E-gear fl with 1 watt Luxeon LED. Anybody know if they're any good?

The Luxeon LED is fantastic. I picked up a 1 watt Dorcy the other day, and was really surprised how bright it is compared to standard LED's. Get one. You wont be disapointed.

As far as Maglite? They sell a change-over kit for their standard flashlights. Check in the flashlight section of any walmart.

I like my Surefire E2E Executive Elite. It's small, beautiful, well-made and bright as hell. The drawbacks are cost, short battery life, expensive batteries and the crazy heat output. I got this light when my old G2 went off in my pocket and melted itself. I was sitting in my office working and my pocket started getting hot, really hot, something's really wrong hot! I yanked my light out of my pocket and it had scorched a nice mark into my leg. It had also melted a hole through its own lens. Seems the tail button got pressed by the way I was sitting and the light was on in my pocket. Ouch. The new light has a lockout tail cap to avoid similar incidents in the future. I've had no problems with it.

Review for AA Minimag LED conversion is located in the bulbs and LED conversion section of the site. There are several LED conversion units for different lights.

Even though I couldn't find where I read it and can't point readers to them, I thought I'd pass this along so it's out there. I've read on a different site that after 15-20 minutes runtime, that there can be an overheat problem with the converted maglites because of the completely sealed aluminum construction, which can cause a performance reduction (brightness output) of about 50%.

Where are you getting an X5 for 10 bucks?

Started at 10 on Ebay, ended at 23. You get great deals sometimes. You just have to be at the right time.

I can go to a sports store that carries the Inova in the wrapper and walk out with a NIB X5 for $33 OTD.

$23 is not $10.

You pay $23 for the light, at least $5 for shipping, and have to win the bid, worry about the seller, wait for it to ship, etc...........

I personally will pay the maximum $5 extra and walk out with it AFTER having verified that it works and the batteries are new.

Sorry, but I don't see where the good deal is.

If you were in Canada, where knife shops are VERY rare (2 places in my city that have more that chinese stuff). You would consider Ebay too.

I finally bought a NIB Fenix, wich I can't found here.

That said, I only bought 3 or 4 times on Ebay.

I buy on ebay all the time, but I know what it'd cost me in a store I can drive 40 miles round trip to get there and back. Sometimes it's cheaper in town, but not often.

If you can't drive by a place then I can understand. It makes perfect sense now.

In that situation I would say that is a good deal.

Ro give you an idea, the best knife store in town is House of knives, and I saw a byrd knife for 69$ (little over 50 US). Take the price in USD, put it in Can, x1.5 and you'll get the price in store. It's better to buy on NewGraham, even on ebay. It's better for me even with the shipping and the custom fees.

Just got a watch on ebay. The item + shipping is 100 can, in store it's 175$.

I think it worth.
