I am really excited about the new Flat Byrd! Is anyone else looking forward to it? Any info about it would be greatly appreciated.
Sal says it will be out soon-

I can't wait for it. I'm extremely impressed by my Byrds, a flat grind is icing on the cake for the performance value they provide.

I don't think that it's just a flat grind, or else they would just offer it as maybe an upgrade/option, maybe a really skinny byrd? Who knows...

I just hope they don't have the blade warp problem the Caly had. I have two Calys that are perfect but my ZDP 189 Caly has some warp.

The flatbyrd was no so named because of the blade grind. The knife is very thin.

Your ZDP-189 model is warped because of the lamination process. The Byrd's solid 8cr... blade should not have that problem. Enjoy!

I think you are right USSR.
I would really like a flat ground Byrd with G 10 grips. It would give my Caly 3 a break. SS is too slick for my taste. I don't want my hand to slide and get Spyder bit.
Sal your people are crying out in the wilderness for a few bits of manna. Sprinkle some info about his new Byrd upon us.

I'm not sure that's the case. When I was researching the ZDP-189 Jess Horn before purchasing one, I did some searching and asking regarding the Caly Jr. and the issue of warped blades. I was informed that even the models without the laminated steel exhibited warped blades. In addition, the ZDP-189 Horns have not shown any warping that I know of, and they utilise the same laminated steel as the Caly Jr.
