Flat-Cap Jigging!!

Thanks Charlie and Will Power.
While digging for information on another knife, I ran across this example from a 1916 factory New York Knife catalog.
Interesting that they used the words "Flat Capped" within the company description of that model.
A beautiful knife with a "Flat Capped" (side panel as opposed to end) rear bolster.

It seems there are many uses for the words Flat Cap, and Flat Capped!!

Here are two Empire Gunstock Jacks, with side-flattened Caps, which are quite suitable for branding or stamping, like the NYK cut above!!View attachment 2762747

Interesting info, Neal, and very nice examples of that type of “flat capped” knife, Charlie. I seem to remember GEC doing something like that, too. I believe it was an SFO for someone… 🧐😉😁

My new flat cap turned up today, hopefully a good omen for the knife version. It’s wool and is quite a bit darker than I expected, it’ll be great for hunting.

Pocket carry is an old Blyde lamb and the other one a struggle keeping out of my pocket.
