How do you achieve a flat finish on carbon fiber? What do rub or sand it with?
Regards,John R.

I finish profiling with a worn 220 belt. At that point I wet sand by hand with 220 then 400. Depending on the carbon fiber, I have finished it with wet, green or gray scotchbrite pads. This lets the patern show through but is not shiny.
I've never used CF from the knife suppliers so I realy don't know how that material finishes. I have a source for broken CF airboat propellers. The paterns vary and some look wild!

Hello,

You could also try a Bead blast , but reduce the CFM to about 40 to 50 CFM on the Air compressor,,,,this should produce the desired effect your looking for, Flat matte
finish and still will show pattern in the CF.

Hope that helps,
