I love my G10 Byrd but the only thing that I dislike about it is the grind. Hollow sabre grind is one of my last choices for a blade grind, but everything else on the knife is wonderful. Are there any plans for a flat-ground byrd knife? If there was a flat ground G10 Cara Cara I'd have to buy at least 4 or 5. :)

The "Catbyrd" is full flat ground (3.5"), Titan handle, RIL lock (Reeve Integral Lock). Still a few months away.

I reckon it's Titanium. I've played with the proto. Very sweet Byrd! Reminded me a lot of the ATR.

A titanium handled Byrd? Awesome! Brilliant! I'll bite. What's the estimated MSRP? Is it in line with the rest of the Byrds or is it much more?

I just bought a Millie and I'm warming to the flat grind idea.

Thanks for the news Sal. I don't own any steel handled knives or framelocks, so it will be interesting how this knife suites me. Are there any prototype photos currently?

Wow, this is certainly an exciting little nugget of unexpected news. Did you ever get your hands on a G-10 Byrd, Vivi? Also, are you named after what I think you are (FFIX)?

Ti framelock? Full flat grind? Economic Byrd line?

Wow what a time to be into knives...this one already sounds like a winner...

Yep, most my forum names come after fantasy books or games. Vivi, Raum, Oberon, Valdis etc.

I got a G10 Meadowlark in a trade. Very happy with it, just looking to trade it for the bigger version, the G10 Cara Cara. I think it would fit my hand a little better. It's an exceptional knife either way, the ergonomics fit me much better than my old Delica. I'm just not too keen on saber grinds.

i , for one , happen to like the steel handled knives . call me an extrovert if you want , but i also like combo edge and spyderedge , in some cases better then i like plain edge

I am very excited about this knife as well. Hopefully it will be successful enough to warrant a 3" version.

Heres a shot of the caping knife I make, it has a 3.5 flat grind S30V. Would the sweept tip work for birds. I could redesign the tip

 I'm with you here. My current favorite carry is a SS Spyderedge Police.

Pics! We need pics! It will be interesting to see the reaction to this knife when it comes out. How would other makers be able to justfiy charging $200 or more for a ti framelock if Byrd can do it for under $80 (or, wishfully thinking, under $50?) Byrd has already demolished the notion that a G10 handled knife has to be expensive. Can they do the same for titanium?

Someone give a pic or a very detailed desciption of this knife please. Mr. Blonde said something like it reminded him of an ATR. So are there holes, or is it cleaner like a Sebenza and other frame locks. I'm guessing the blade will be about 3.5 inches.
Details please!

 Holy Jeez Sal! Spyderco keeps giving me reasons to eschew purchases from other companies. I mean, I usually buy American(I really dig the Golden Spydies) but I don't mind making an exception here.
