Flat Ground Byrds, Any In The Works?

 I'm with you here. My current favorite carry is a SS Spyderedge Police.

i`d love to carry my CE ss police but this is aus and if got confiscated i would probably cry  . i EDC a CE byrd flight (steel handle) because its a little cheaper to replace if the cops take it off me

I NEED the Catbyrd! A 3.5" flat ground titanium framelock, it's like a dream come true. In the meanwhile, you could always reprofile your Byrd to flat ground by sharpening it flat to the stone until the hollow is gone. It won't be pretty, but it should cut like hell.

Someone give a pic or a very detailed desciption of this knife please. Mr. Blonde said something like it reminded him of an ATR. So are there holes, or is it cleaner like a Sebenza and other frame locks. I'm guessing the blade will be about 3.5 inches.
Details please!

The prototype I saw and handled had a closed handle, a la the Sebenza's handle but with Spyderco's usual attention to ergonomice;) .

The proto's blade at that time wasn't a full flat grind, so the design may have changed regarding the handle.

Any chance of switching up steels for the blade? maybe bring back ATS-55?

I personally like the Byrd steel, it takes a really nice edge and holds it better than AUS 8 in my experience. I haven't tried the ATS-55, though.
