Just thought I'd share:

Made it with my Grizzly grinder. Edge thickness is down to 0.010" and it has a nice distal taper. Mirror polished too! :D

fantastic work....but does the grinding not spoil the heat treat?

I love flat ground blades.....but hey, that's what the Caly 3 is for!

Thanks for the comments.

Heat's not a problem if you use nice sharp new ceramic belts, dipping in water after each pass. Doesn't even get warm. :)

(Cuts so much better now!) I wish they came from the factory like this too.

 That's sweet. To me, about the only thing lacking for both the Delica and Endura is the lack of good flat grind.

Wow,

Very nice work on that!
How thick is the spine near the hole after it how been ground?

Well done! I wish they came that way as well. I love my Caly III but I prefer pointy tips like the D-3 has. I see you made the D-4 tip more like the D-3 as well. What you did is just what I would like to have done.

If they came like this from the factory, I think it would compliment the Calypso 3 and not compeat with it. I know I would own both.

The spine just above the center of the hole is 0.067". I deliberately ground it thin, I wanted a slicer. I don't do much but cut paper and cardboard with it anyway. :)

wait for the ZDP Caly. but I think that's a laminated one, not full on ZDP.

I second a full flat grind Endura in ZDP.

A ZDP caly would be great.. even if it is a laminate, heck I think some of the William Henry knives are ZDP laminates.. :D

That's awesome! Nice work!

BTW: The ZDP Delica is not laminated but is all ZDP-189. The blue ZDP Delica was the first production knife made that has a full ZDP blade.

Great looking work! I might need to try that.....

Is it just me or does the blade have a slight recurve to it?....
