Flat platen questions

So I made a flat platen attachment and soon realized I needed something better. My grind on one side had a sweeping curve at the top and on the other side was crisp. I ordered a glass liner for it and am hoping this will work better and be more consistent. My question is, do I need to run my belt right to the edge or should I hang it over a little on the ricasso side?

Grind a piece of steel with each variable and use the one you like.

I guess I was wondering is a sharp angle the correct way, or is a soft angle the correct way? Is it just preference or is there a right and wrong?

They are both correct.

So personal preference it is. I like the soft taper better so I will just hang it off a little.
