flatbyrd lock engagement problem

Hello,

I bought a Flatbyrd about 2 months ago but it has seen little use besides my moderate opening/closing to "work in" the framelock as was suggested. However, it developed some vertical blade play after a bit of that.

Just today I was fiddling with it doing some "Spyder drops" and noticed that the lock would no longer fully engage. I can close the Byrd now with moderate pressure on the blade.

Is this a problem with the production? Is there a simple fix for it? Or were Flatbyrds not designed for "Spyder Drop" openings? :(

Have you tried cleaning it? Might be some crud on the stop pin.

It's not crud. Never carried it.

When I press on the blade, the pressure causes the framelock to disengage, it pushes the steel back to the original position. kinda of like lock wear, but in reverse. Poor construction or poor fitting? I've never had this happen on any of my knives.

eight,
We can't give you a clear answer without seeing the knife. Our best recommendation is to send it in to our W&R department and include what happened and all of your contact information. We'll let you know what happened and what we can do.
