My comment is and I am it's only my point of view, the blade seems to short. Most of my folders have longer blades. Unless the 3 1/4 blade has a special purpose.

If they were 4" blade and 4 1/2" handle and the same price, I would have considered getting one.

That's the beauty of handmade and custom; I make 'em to fit anyone's needs. This particular style and other similar, became popular around here with the hunters that I make knives for, I guess mostly skinning needs for them. These are fixed blades, BTW. I do have folders for sale as well, but they are small gentlemen's folders. My forte is in fixed and I have recently added folders into my repertoire. Please do not hesitate to contact me with a custom request.

There flawless?
Congratulations, Knifemakers have been trying to achive that since the begining of time.

:foot: OK! I'm busted! I am my own worst critic and I do not think anything is flawless, BUT....my wife helped me post these pictures (she's the Internet wiz) and I didn't even see what she put for a title! To her eyes, my knives are ALWAYS flawless! i'm gettin the hang of this, maybe i better drive

I think they look great and I am on your side, I am a hunter auto technician and machinist. I have found almost all usefull knifes have blades under four inches. My longest hunting knife blade is a caping knife at 3.5 in.

I like them a lot. Most of my fixed blade knives are 4inchs or under. I have a thing for concealable backups so have most of the production stuff (spyderco ronin, ER shrapnel, CRK shadow (4inch) on the way, tops covert, etc). Small and sharp is very good. I look forward to seeing what else you put up for sale.

I could take a white tail apart and ready for the freezer with any one of those knives. They also look just about the right size for a trout or a quail.

You are lucky to have a wife that is so generous. My wife sends me back to the shop to take out the most tiny scratches. My most verbal critic but it keeps me on my toes; if it passes her inspection I seldom worry about a customer finding fault.

Thanks for the compliment from knifemaker who hunts (who would know better?)! Just took a look at your knife posted this morning, and all I can say is it looks like you make a mean knife too. What show didn't that knife sell at?

Yeah, my wife's getting better about critiquing, but I'm the real critic. At the blade show in atlanta this year, AG Russell stopped by my booth to offer his opinions. Now that was a thrill! He prefers thinner models to what i showed that day, but liked them overall. I've worked for over 25 years with Blackie Collins, so his style has definately influenced my work. And I love Heron's style as well.

For 30 years, i've done so many other's knives and still wanting to find the models that people love most. I just love the drop point, as do you. thanks again!

I am taking a bit of a beating on my comment and learning from what the other user's and knife maker's comments. Like I said it's only my point of view! I do tend to carry big knives.

well, don't beat yourself up...i'm hungry for input of any kind so i can sell more knives. i appreciate ALL comments SpearZ! : )

i do have much larger models 2, if you go to my website, check out models V and VI for sure, maker's choice maybe.

Hi Eddie,

While the knives may not be actually flawless, you are offering one heck of a deal. On your website, your Maker's Choice for only $100 is a fine standard you have set. I like your warm words and policy. I know you will do well at this price point.

Please pass this Photo Tent thread along to your photographer buddy. He will learn a lot and it will make your already-fine knives that much better.

Welcome and Good luck!

man thanks! I really enjoy making knives. Thanks for all the helpful hints and I will follow up on that. Much appreciated!

No reason for catching flak for expressing your opinion. I had the same thing happen to me on another thread awhile ago. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. I certainly didn't.

Hey, don't apologize, you started some great dialog even if it did mess with this thread.

since I joined BF about one month ago. There are allot of knife users information that I find interesting and knowledge/experiences passed on that is useful to me.

Also, the knifemaker's comments and knifemakers knives of various designs and lengths. They all look very well made that I have seen in the last month.

I do find it surprising because for the last year I have looked at knife websites and galleries not finding much to buy,all over the US and Canada. On BF in the last month I have found 6 knife makers at least that I would buy what they make.

Cheers!

Hey SpearZ,
Opinoins are like knives, you can have as many as you would like.:D In looking at these I think it is the relation of blade length to handle length giving it an apperance of a short blade. I wonder how the balance of these knives sit in your hand.
As far as Blade length in general, I was out shopping for a chain saw unsure of the size of saw I needed. The salesman said 90% of your cutting consists of 5" or less, indicating that I wouldn't need the bigger saw. I thought on that for a while and said "what about that other 10%...."

I agree with GL Drew, a person could take apart a deer and get it in the freezer with any of these fine knives, but there are times when an extra 2" would be quite handy. (I.E. the 10%)

All this being said, the great thing is, we could get one of these AND one a bit bigger:)

:D Thanks Slayer! ...and with my prices, you can AFFORD two of them! ...and I have a good variety of knives and can make almost anything you can think of. Anoyone out there in the Asheville, NC area this weekend, come see my blades in person at the Civic Center.
