Has anyone ever coated a blade in the stuff? How about an other rubberized undercoating? I am considering having this done to my G10 Espada. Should I try this or find a Duracoat guy?

Why?

Rubber will cause friction and add thickness to the blade making it cut like the front bumper of a Ford truck.

The Espada is also stainless steel so coating it would only be for appearance.

Any DIY ideas to turn the blade black or at least a darker color? I do want to nullify the horrible effect of bead blast, but I am not sure if what I have is enough to polish it to at least a satin finish. I refuse to keep the bead blast finish.

The only way to darken stainless is with a strong acid.

Rub it with fine scotch brite. It will give a satin finish and smooth out the pitted bb surface.

I do have access to 600, 1000, 1500 and 2000 grit sandpaper and a tube of Flitz. I have never done such a thing before, so forgive my ignorance on the subject of polishing away bead blast. Do you think that I would get good results with the materials that I have accumulated?
