I have a motor with 1/2" shaft that I am considering putting a mandrel on to mount a cloth buffing wheel. However I had also hoped that I could use the end of the mandrel to power a flex shaft. The motor is ~1/2hp craftsman that once powered a 2x42 belt grinder. I replaced the belt grinder motor with something more powerful, so it is now only powering the disc end.
Is there a simple adapter that i can use to do both? It would be great if I didn't have to remove one to use the other. The flex shaft is from a dremel copy.
Secondly do I need to have something to attach the outer case of the shaft to? Can I just attach the inner rod to the motor and hold the outer without danger?
