Flexible Belts

I finally got my homemade 2x72 up and running. I ordered belts, of what I (thought) I needed from Trugrit. Well still in the process of waiting for the belts, I managed to nearly finish my first hidden tang, stacked leather knife with a brass guard. I'm looking for a 1200 grit or higher belt that is EXTREMELY flexible, to get into 90* corners underneath the guard. Any suggestions?

I'm not very experienced with the way they label belts and what not, so not sure whats what.

This is one that I purchased to try out. Was cheap so I figured its worth a shot. Not sure if its flexible or not.

No, that is a very poor belt for that job. Get some Norton U254 s in grit, 30, 16, and maybe even 5 or 6.

For tight spots, either cut some belts in half, or order a few 1X72" belts. They are really useful for tight spots like a guard sweep.

That said, hand sanding may be the best way to finish in tight spots, unless you have a slow speed VS grinder.

You may benefit from a small wheel set for your 2x72 also. But like me cost may be a factor in that. Just a suggestion.

I do have variable speed. Down to a crawl if need but. I'll have to look into the small belts.

I will be adding some attachments eventually but, same here. Already spent enough for now. Currently in the process of purchasing a custom Everstamp for $235!
