flic my bic (right in the garbage)

I thought that true connoisseurs used wooden matches to light a cigar. Not bein a smart-a$$, sincerely askin. Anyone else heard that?

Depends on who you talk to. Some will tell you that the chemicals such as sulfer used in matches ruins the flavor, aroma etc... of the cigar.

Personnally I use a butane lighter by Colibri. Nice clean burning flame, no fuel leakage, and always lights (as long as it has fuel).

They did but lawsuits by idoits with no eyebrows probably did away with that.
They are now stupid-proof.
The best lighter you can buy is a cheap gas station lighter with no brand name on it. They have adjusters and on high, the right one will be like a flame thrower. I have one that blows a 5-6 inch flame on high.
The book 98.6 degrees mentions tossing the BIC and buying a cheapo because they adjust and have ridiculous flames on high setting.
I beg to differ as there is no such thing as stupid-proof,lol!
:D
Yeah i've seen the cheapy lighters with the low-high adjusters, Tokai is the brand we get around here. Priced the same or slightly cheaper than Bics. Actually the Tokais are also transparent so you can tell if there is any fuel in it, a sensible feature i wish Bics had.

For the records I don't carry a butane lighter in the woods. If I want to smoke a cigar, I light a fire, or a small wood stick, then light the cigar.

The biggest satisfaction I got from this process is when the fire used came from my first successful bow-drill attempt. It was a Cohiba cigarillo ;)
