Flick or no flick with your Pm2?

No flick... never. I don't like blades moving without my controlling them all the way. My digi-cam PM 2 came perfectly centered, but so loose that the blade would move on its own after the detent was overcome. Took me a while to solve that problem because of the new pivot system in the PM 2s, but I finally got it. The blade moves very smoothly, but there is a hydraulic feel to it similar to a Sebenza. Now, it's still centered, but the blade doesn't move until I move it and it stays where I put it, even half open.

Flick.
I like mine loose enough so that I can close it one handed in mid air (not using my leg or anything else), and I haven't figured out a way to do that with the compression lock without having it flickably loose. I don't always flick it open, but I much prefer to be able to flick it closed. Liner and frame locks are a different story, as they are much easier to close one handed.

I'm the same way. No flick. I like to keep my thumb on the blade throughout the whole deployment and my blade doesn't hang loose. I was in coffee shop yesterday and had to use my Buck Vantage. I used the little flipper on the side but didn't feel comfortable when I flipped it open. What I really needed was my Leatherman pliers for the task at hand, but that's another story. :p

When a good time turns around
You must flick it
You will never live it down
Unless you flick it
No one gets away
Until they flick it

I say flick it
Flick it good

Flick yes... Hard flick NO! I adjust my knives so that they are centered with zero play and can still be gently flicked open. Some are easy, some are quite time consuming but in the end when results are achieved....totally worth it.

Not sure why you would need to flick open. Does one need to flick open to feel all warm and fuzzy inside or maybe in a hurry to cut open that bag of chips? :p

Flick. No big deal with the Para 2. Flicked mine thousands of times and the lockup never changed and there was no play.

Flick 'em. I'm not trying to beat it to death with my wrist but if it's not a slipjoint or a lockback I don't have a problem with flicking it (yes, Sebs included).

I've never had to adjust anything on my PM2. The blade moves freely when opening and closing and I do either a controlled thumb opening or middle finger flick depending on circumstances and environment.

So I'm cooking a few burger on the grill and I decide for no reason to take out my PM2 and start opening and closing it, not flicking, aaaaaaaand I drop it.
It hits the pavement hard but gets back up with a few small dings on the cutting edge of the blade. Don't play with knives. :D

I index finger flick both my PM2s. It's my preferred opening method, and I do it with either hand.

The satin blade swings closed easier than the black-bladed one does, due to the lack of coating, but I'm a stickler for no blade play and being centered. Just how I am, on all my knives, and my two PM2s are no different.

One thing I love about PM2s is you can draw, open with the finger flick, cut something, then compression-lock swing them closed with no bounce (with practice) in around three-four seconds. I can do it slightly better on my left hand than the right.

I cannot do that with any other knife (closest would be a Benchmade Axis-lock like my 710) but with the PM2 it's possible just about every time.
