Flicking out AR/GB blade. Good? Ok? Not that good?

Actually carrying another pistol really won't help you much. If I had the choice of two pistols or a pistol and a large knife I'd go with the pistol & knife. Let's face it... Ya rarely ever get attacked by 20 guys, and if you can't kill two or three guys with a 10 to 15 round mag you just can't shoot worth a damn. So maybe it would be better to have a close quarters weapon you can switch to. LOL.

brother, believe me, there aint NO situation 2 glocks wont get ya out of, i will take ANOTHER pistol over a 11" knife anytime, get real dude, this is the real world here lol - i carry a pistol daily for work and interact w/the biggest a$$holes in the world, so i have a clue, sure, i carry a folder, but, hopefully, things never get bad enough to were i have to use it - dont really wanna get bloody, ever heard of AIDS/Hep/etc, and an 11" knife, unless ya are in the army, is, imho, ridiculous - and as far as not needing 2 guns suggest ya read some mas ayoob, chuck taylor, etc - most suggest carrying 2 - sure, my 32 w/15 rnds should do it, but what if it jams? what if the BG is a stevan seagal clone and shoots it outta my hand?? what if there are several BG and its night??? regrettably i aint a steven seagal clone, i do miss occasionally-so, to each there own, carry a knife and skip the gun altogether if ya want..................

Don't buy cheap guns and cheap ammo and your weapon won't jam. My H&K has never jammed and I've put at least 50 0r 60 thousand rounds through it in the time I've owned it. And I use glazers as my carry rounds. Also I keep it clean. So jamming is not an issue. And if a person is dumb enough to pull a gun in someones face they deserve to get it knocked out of their hand. Even Steven Segal could do little good against a 45 at 5 yards away. Well little accept get shot and bleed. Carry watch ya like. Carry an MP5 or UMP to work if ya feel the need. Maybe it's gotten a lot worse in the city streets than I last remember. But One gun is usually enough for me. What kinda 32 do you have? I own a Barretta Tomcat. It's only 7+1 shot but it's a great and reliable pocket pleaser. Being a big guy I don't like to wear a heavy suit or anything in the summer. It's usually a T-shirt and shorts for me. It's hard to conceal a gun like that. But my tomcat goes right in the pocket. At the very least it makes a lot of noise.

wow - talk about digressing, this has gone a long way from if flicking strider knives is bad lol - uh i clean my glock(s) very frequently, thank you, and also use winchester ranger LEO ammo exclusivly, so no bad ammo ( i dont think) glocks/sigs arent cheap guns, i'll put my glock up aginst your HK anytime, as far as reliability, etc - so ya put 60K thru w/no jams??so what?? chuck taylor put 100K+ thru a glock 17 w/none, does that mean it cant jam?? NO!! the ONE jam i have had w/my glocks is when i had a misfire w/remington 125gr JHP, fired on the second strike though, and does that make remington crappy?? no, not imho-old ammo? HOW, the 357SIG has only been out a few yrs, and this was a couple of yrs ago - due to progressive leadership we are encouraged to carry at least 2 guns, and no mention of a 11" bowie yet - my buds at work would laugh me out of the state if i showed up sporting a 11" bowie lol - actually, i am the only one who really carries a 'tac ' knife, most carry smaller knives for EDC - no MP5 but i do have a mini14 in the trunk- so what does this prove?? nothing at all about flicking a strider, imho, maybe i would look dumb carrying a 11" bowie knife around - jeez, 'tween radio, cuffs, cell, pager, 2 guns if not 3, pepper spray, surefire, pens/pencils/keys/notebook, extra ammo, MT LCC and my buck/strider, i really dont have room anyway lol - so thanks for the info, but i think i'll stick w/my way of doing things for the present, it has worked so far......but thanks for the input anyway-

PS - right now carry a keltech w/glaser 32 sometimes, and the streets are dangerous, and the tx DPS likes the sig round and pistols also, and havent seen many jams with either on the range but ya never know, do ya??

You will not go wrong with the Strider folder. As for the individual who thinks this blade will get you killed, just how deep does he think the carotid, jugular and windpipe are below the surface. 4" of steel will work well if you know at least a little about anatomy!

KAFLOOOOOOOSSSSSHHHHH!!!

Damn... That 1WB just swirls and bounces around but won't go down.

Well, since we've digressed...

i'll put my glock up aginst your HK anytime, as far as reliability, etc - so ya put 60K thru w/no jams??so what?? chuck taylor put 100K+ thru a glock 17 w/none, does that mean it cant jam?? NO!! the ONE jam i have had w/my glocks is when i had a misfire w/remington 125gr JHP, fired on the second strike though, and does that make remington crappy??

Ironic - I know an HK will second-strike but a Glock? (I'd tap/rack/bang on a misfire anyhow).

My USP has yet to malfunction. My Glock has done so twice, both with new shooters, both rounds that failed to go into battery, probably due to limp wristing. Bottom line is any gun can malfunction. I'd probably be more prone to carrying a pistol with a blade than just two pistols. Thing I like about knives is that they come presuppressed, they don't run out of ammo and innocents are far less likely to be affected.

that's why I carry at least 3 pistols, 2 large fixed blade knives, 1 folder, an MRE and a Camelback whenever I go to the supermarket. If my norinco ammo jams a pistol I just drop it and run in panic until I can find where I put the other two.

The big knives I use to waive at other drivers when I'm in traffic or to impress chicks at the bar. The folder is good for cutting speaker wire when I'm at work and digging into my hipbone when taking naps on the couch in the customer lounge. hope this helps...

 ;)

Good post, hondo. I forgot about the MRE, thanks. Also good tip about picking up honies at the bar with a fixed blade. You know you've found a winner when she says "Is that a BT in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?"

And remind me not to mess with anyone that can wear out an AR or GB by flicking it.
