I want to cautiously dip my toe in the water of mid-tech flippers and was wondering which of these two builders you prefer? I'm a fan of both as far as designs go and I won't be able to get either in-hand before making a purchase. Cheers as always for whatever info I receive and photos would be cool if you feel like posting some!

Oooofff.. I can Answer this. Have and carry/use several of both.

Olamic for an excellent value,. Shiro if that's not a concern.

Both if at all possible.
Interesting. Thanks for the reply. I'm curious what you mean by the line in red above.

Olamic falls just short of the line of diminishing returns per dollar, for me. I feel it is positioned as an exceptional value in craftsmanship, materials and functionality. Especially on the secondary market.

24/7 and RM anyway. Swish isn't my gig.

Shirogorov crosses that line just a bit and you pay more per smaller incremental improvement in design, tolerance, fit, finish and materials. Not by much but you should be comfortable with that going into it of you plan to use it. They are worth every penny if absolute value isn't a top priority.

Comparing an Olamic to a Shiro is like comparing a Buick to a Maserati. Koenig is a better comparison to Shiro IMO. Don't overlook Herman either. So many choices ... 🤑
As I said, I’m new to this space.

I guess I should have laid out my intentions a bit better. I want a long (9.25in + as I have massive hands) and slender titanium framelock flipper in a great blade steel. I want it to be a user AND a looker. Great value and quality from a reputable builder.

The Olamic Rainmaker is about as close as I have seen to my ideal design. Does Shiro have a platform in similar dimension?
