flipper folder

I am very much in love with flippers. I have a crkt m16 that has this--it's an absolutely great feature. I'd love to find a framelock knife that has a flipper. My search hasn't been very successful, though. I am really thinking about getting the zero tolerance 200.

I wasn't very specific in my post. I really like handles that are sort of plain, as well as blades the same way. Don't like the scallops on the groove's blade or the klingon styling of the rampage. I have a Bradley Alias--something like this or the Sebenza with a flipper would be a dream come true. Oh, and $200 or below is a necessity, too.

Does flipper w/AO count? I have a Combat Elite RRF for sale that might fit the bill, although it's all black. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=476546&highlight=rrf

otherwise I'd say go for a Kershaw Ti/ZDP mini-cyclone, you can switch off the AO on those, or for $50 the JYD2 is a fantastic knife. Not a titanium frame-lock like the other two but the steel liners are thick!! Check out STR's mods to it, I followed him & made a full choil in the blade and filed down the thumb-ramp on mine, and it's just awesome. My only quibble is the tip-down carry, but perfection would be boring . . .

A Ti Bump would fit the bill, except for being plain. I've got a bunch of other flippers but I always come back to the Ti Bumps. And they can still be had. If you really want plain get the grey handled one.

the mini cyclone zdp 189 looks awesome, so i'm looking into that one right now. the zero tolerance knives would be awesome two, but they are a little expensive for me.

How about a Combat Elite RRF, Kershaw JYD2, Camillus Heat, Kershaw Lahar, Kershaw Groove. There are several more if you want speed assist. The Combat Elite I had was REAL SMOOTH! For the money the JYD2 will be hard to beat. THANKS! Good Luck! Kevin:)

I almost forgot also the Kershaw Bump! There are several styles of it. THANKS! Kevin:)

Man, it's hard to find the perfect knife. Something inside me just can't do the assisted opening. I just can't help but think--the more moving parts, the higher the chance of failure. I really like the mini-cyclone ti zdp down with opp whatever knife, but want a bigger blade and no assist. Still lookin for that perfect knife! I got a Bradley Alias 1 and took all color off. It was perfect in many ways and the best package for what I wanted. Trouble is, it's just not super fun. Not giving me that little boy on Christmas feeling. In some ways, kinda boring, if you know what I mean. Great knife in so many ways, but there's a but...

It is a flipper with speed assist. I would get the G10 handle if I was getting one of those to carry. Good Luck! Kevin:)

Third vote for the Kershaw Mini Cyclone. There's nothing "mini" about this knife. The Ti Handle fits perfectly in my slightly over-sized paws, and ZDP 189 is probably the best blade out there. For about $ 140 shipped, it can't be beat.

Plus, Kershaw's customer service is the best, and Thomas W., who is a regular on the Kershaw forum, will go out of his way to see his customers satisfied.

Also, I just bought a Scallion flipper, but it's a little smaller than you want, but it does fit in the watch pocket of my jeans, and like the Mini, is smooth as silk.

I also have a SOG TF1, black serrated, and the SAT was fun at first, but give me a good flipper any day of the week over the AO. There's no comparison.

hell o again, I just bought a mini cyclone zdp/ti, and expect it will be here soon. thanx 4 your input, this knife really looks to be what i had in mind when i started this thread. So thanx again.

Thanks for letting us know what you decided to purchase!! Congrats on scoring a Mini Cyclone!
