flipper plus studs vs flipper only

I think having both is good as long as the thumbstuds dual as the stop pins. I wouldn't want thumbstuds otherwise. If the thumbstuds are stop pins it would be great to have a liner on both sides.

Is a nice option to have available for times you don't want to scare the sheeple.;) It's one of the reasons I love my Kershaw Lahars! If only my Kershaw Grooves had thumbstuds, I'd be the happiest camper around!

I like them both, but if I had to choose, I'll go for the old reliable thumb stud.

I slightly prefer the thumb studs overall, but it depends heavily on the design of the knife. For flippers, I tend to like it with both the thumb stud and the flipper (an example being the XM-18 flipper). If I were thinking about something like a Todd Begg Gent's Glimpse or an Ikoma Harrier, I definitely prefer just the flipper. Again, the overall design of the knife should dictate that. Sorry I'm not being much of a help.
