Hello All,

I'm looking to buy a flipper. Below are my parameters. What would you recommend?

-Must be phosphor bronze washers (not looking to start a debate about ball bearings, I simply don't like them)
-Price range is around $200
-Must be something I could currently buy, or one that pops on the exchange often

Thanks in advance for your advice!

my ZT 0770cf is a flipper on PB washers, but its assisted. you can unassist one but its not nearly as good as a flipper on bearings. you have to give it wrist most of the time. kershaw probably has a few, like the SKYLINE, still need to use wrist with my skyline from time to time to have it flip correctly.

i dont think PB flippers are that popular, plenty of PB knives that you can flick out, im having a hard time remembering any PB flippers tho.

I really like the ZT 0566. It's on washers. You'll have to deassist it though. It still flips great. It doesn't explode out like an 0562 mind you, but I never fail to deploy mine

Disregard. Just reread your dislike for ball bearings.

ZT0350 or ZT0566 are the first to come to mind.

I think the upcoming ZT 0850 is supposed to be on be washers rather than bearings, but I can't find definite proof. It's going to be more than $200 though.

There are a lot of less expensive flippers that are on washers. Some of the Kizer Vanguard knives flip great and come in way under your price point. The Vanguard Dorado is an incredible flipper. Some of the RealSteel flippers do well on washers too.

the 0850 is not a flipper, but its great... should be around 350 give or take

Thanks for all the recommendations, guys. I'm going to pickup one of the ZTs and take out the assist function.

You appear to have committed yourself, but anyway, here's my 2 cents to close out this thread:

There's the Kizer Kim Ning designed Sovereign-Tang V4431A2. It's from their budget line, but does come with a 3.6" VG-10 drop point blade and sculpted G-10 scales. My sample has bronze washers and has a satisfactory flipping action as-is. However, you ought to bear in mind that like any mass produced item, the manufacturer reserves the right to change specifications at will and with no prior notice. So caveat emptor.

Another good thing, given your stated budget, you can easily buy two of them.
