Flipper,Thumbstud,Spydie Hole ......

I like them all just fine, however, I prefer the spyder hole.

It works well for fast deployment, it does not get in the way of cutting or sharpening, it is easily used with gloves, and to top it off -I think it works the best underwater (salt series).

Spydie Hole & studs are almost a tie, Spydie hole winning by a toe... Studs, Flipper. I HATE the way flippers look on a closed knife. I like the way that your typical knife with thumb lugs/stud's blade sits further in the handle when closed. But I like that the hole allows you to "spydie drop" the knife... that is, grab the blade and flip the handle into your hand... GREAT fumble resistant (emergency situation) opening method IMO. While I am DEFINITELY a Spyderco Fan, I am super psyched that other companies (Benchmade, Strider, ect, ect...) are also using it.
