It will take some break in. When I picked mine up the detent was so strong my finger would get sore flipping it when I played with it. Now a year later it's much smoother, the detent holds it shut just fine but no longer needs excessive force to break past and get the blade in motion.

It may be the pivot is too tight. Like another recent thread, my 0801 will loosen under repeated flips (common problem apparantly). If I tighten it a bit too much the pivot doesnt loosen but the knife wont always fully open either. The knife flips like no other when the pivot is just right.
