Steve...
LOL
Funny story...
BUT,,,
I'm up one on you!!
A few years back I got into an accident and while my car was in the shop I was given a loaner to use..
Well a buddy of mine came over and we decided to take the rifles out to the range..An AR-15 and 2 FN-FALs
Since it was kind of crappy weather I brought a few large shipping blankets placing them over the hood and roof of the car to protect the paint from possible chips from the ejected brass.
Everything went well,, lots of casings on the hood and roof of the car,, but the blankets protected the paint..
Well once everything was cleaned up,, I removed the blankets and noticed a huge yellowish circle on the roof of the brand new car about the size of a large dinner plate...
I protected the car from the flying brass, but failed to protect it from the muzzle blast.. LMAO
Not only was the paint burnt, there were hundreds of small chips right down to the primer from all of the tiny pieces of copper being peeled off the bullet by the bore.LOL
I freaked. Rushed home and tryed to clean it off. I then hauled a$$ to a friend of mines body shop. Luckily he was able to buff out the burn and repair the majority of nicks in the paint.
I returned the car,, making sure the gas was topped off and the interior was nice and clean. They didn't notice anything, luckily!!
Pheeeew!
Lesson Learned!!! LOL
