I'm having trouble finding larger amounts of epoxy. All of the hardware/wally world stores have is 5 minute epoxy in the little syringes. I can't even find the larger 30 minute types anymore, other than the colored/paste types. I did however come across some flooring epoxy, sold in two parts that probably add up to about 1/2 - 3/4 gallon when mixed. It's about 100 dollars for the kit, but still a better deal than the small packages.

Anyone know if this flooring epoxy is any good for knifehandles? Anyone ever use it?

I like the epoxy that is used for attaching golf club heads. You can get it from Golfsmith for about $20.00 a quart.

Geez Mike thats allot of epoxy. What do you use it for? Are you crankin em out that fast?

Hey Mike , Epoxy paint has no true adhesive quality's. The catalyst for paint
is the hardening trigger but is mostly to strengthen the the dried coating for
abrasion resistance. Hope this helps

Go to a place that sells granite for counter tops they should have epoxy by the gallon.

Any and all hobby shops have a large selection of epoxy's in different set times. An AcMore or Michaels craft store around you?

Down at the flooring shop we have about 20 gallons of Armstrong 2-part flooring adhesive epoxy. It's packaged in two two-quart metal cans. I've got no idea how well it would work for anything other than its intended application, though.

Hobby Lobby has both 5 minute and 30 minute epoxies that comes in a 8 ounce set-4oz of each. for about $8 or $9. I have been using the 30 minute type for a while now. It's a lot better than the syringe type, but not so much that I have trouble using it up in a reasonable time.

Just some general advice, don't use epoxy floor coating/paint or 5-minute epoxy. Good epoxy is designed to be an adhesive, not a paint and it takes time to form a quality bond. I look for slow cure epoxy as a likelier indicator of quality. I have had many 5-minute jobs fall apart.
