This Low Pressure System has been sitting here stalled over Florida pissing all over us for nearly a week straight! Its starting to Suck pretty bad here in North Western Palm Beach County.. I know we needed the rain, but Son, on this light tackle!! :grumpy:

Anyone else getting sick of this monsooooon?

We'd like to take some of your burden from you. Could you please send some of that wet stuff out here to San Diego?

I would if it was up to me brother! :D

Knowing what I do about Geography and Metorology I don't think there is much chance of that though.. Good Luck just the same.

ditto.

My company has installed waterless urinals. They are as bad as you imagine.

I'm not really complaining, cause Lord knows we've needed rain. Outside of Gainesville it's been touch and go today. Sunny one minute, cloudy the next. I'm expecting it to start coming down again anytime now.

But, at least I know the well won't run dry anytime soon. Nor will anyone have a problem with me burning a brush pile when it dries out.

We're getting it pretty good up here in Orlando, too. To the point that retention ponds and storm ditches are overflowing. Last time it got this bad, I had to ford the parking lot to my apartment rather than simply drive across it. I hope it stops soon!

I'm on the verge of getting tired of it but also counting my blessings. Just means a heck of a lot less watering I need to do.

Then again, I've been slowly (good ol Florida marl) digging a hole to put a large banana in the ground and the thing filled up with water before I got a foot and a half deep. Except for the hurricanes, its been a number of years since the ground has been that wet around here.

Just curious, what area are you in?

Eastern Palm Beach county I guess it would be, maybe Central. Royal Palm Beach. I'm guessing you're up around the lake?

To be clear, I don't think it's really been abnormally dry the last few years, just the dry side of the cycle. And much drier than it was back when I was a kid and could take a raft down the road a few days every summer. Who knows, maybe this year. :D

I agree, well stated cycular time frame deduction for this area.

You're closer than I thought too. I am just north west of you in Loxahatchee, pretty near the southern entrance to JW Corbett Wildlife Management Area just the south side of Northlake Blvd. So, Howdy neighbor. :D

Your right though so to speak 'cause I hang out mostly on Lake O with some good friends and several cousins fishing, hunting, frog gigging, ect.. I mis-spoke too. I originally said North Western Palm Beach County when in fact you and I would be considered in North East PB County as you indicated.

Best,

Anthony

We looked out in Loxahatchee and the Acreage for all the usual reasons- privacy, land, RPB doesn't look kindly on the keeping of chickens and goats- but homes in our price range all needed more work than I was ready for/could afford. Growing up out here, its amazing to me how much the area has changed, especially western Loxahatchee. And next thing you know, 441 goes all the way through to Northlake.

For some reason, I always figured you were in cental or north Florida. Small world. :)

Take care,
Brian

Up in Stuart we have had either gale force winds or hurricane type rain storms for several weeks now. At least the ducks have some water in their pond now!

The good folks in Southern Queensland and Northern New South Wales can well appreciate your extreme wet weather: thousands of people have or are being evacuated as their homes get flooded, some for the second time in less than 6 weeks. :(

Brian,

Roger that. I first came out here in the early 1970's as a young teenager to hunt, fish and camp out with friends and get away from the city when I lived with my folks in Fort Lauderdale long before they started developing this place.. You are so right, man how this area has morphed into quite another world. :D

Anyway, take good care and if you ever need anything I am just down the road so just give me a shout. :)

Best,

Anthony
