Is the Sak Cadet too big?
It isn't the TSA you need to deal with, it is the British legal system that you will have to obey.
British laws do not allow for carry of locking knives longer than 3 inches unless you are camping or hunting in the appropriate locales, so you should limit yourself to SAKs and traditional slipcase knives just in case. -Do not think that you can pull a "I'm a dumb American!" defense, as foreign police and judges love to make examples of Americans. When in their country, obey their laws.
Honestly, I wouldn't bring anything. The convenience of an EDC isn't worth the risk IMO.

I agree, but you're not 100% correct there dude. Anything over 3" (cutting edge to be precise) or that locks or is fixed bladed can only be carried around in public if you have a 'good reason'.
I did say that, you just didn't understand it.
You need a reason to carry, and I have learned from my UK knife friends that contractors going to their work with their Leatherman tools have been stopped and prosecuted...
Perhaps claiming to be Canadian may get you further.
I carried a SAK Tinker all over London two years ago. I even had it on me while being searched before entering a museum. Nobody ever hassled me and I'm so American I BLEED Red White and Blue!
I don't understand what you're asking, and seeing the variety of answers, I can tell that I'm not the only one. Are you, (1,) looking for a knife that you'll be able to carry aboard a plane; (2,) a knife that is legal to EDC in the UK; or (3,) something that's a combination of both?Hey all, Im taking off to London for a week of work in May. Im not sure with the new TSA regs and with Travelling abroad what I can legally carry.
This is a great excuse for me to get a Travel EDC. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Get the Spyderco UKPK, great little pocket knife and totally legit to have in your pocket without any hassel!
the only other tip I can give you is, say you're Canadian, lol!
Fill your belly with some real beer and have a good time too!![]()
