Are there any schools or instructors who teach Filipino edged weapons in New Jersey? Thanks.

Princeton Academy of Martial Arts: http://www.pamausa.com

Teaches both Inosanto Blend Kali and Lameco Eskrima.

Located in the Princeton area.

I train there, it's a great and well established school.

I'll be more than happy to answer your questions on the PAMA program. Feel free to call them up and talk too. They are great Folks, ask for Max.

Thanks Cabbit...I checked out the site and it seems like a great place to lear/train. Can you tell me a bit more about the Kali knife training they offer, prices for instruction, anything you can tell me before I give them call would be much appreciated! Thanks again Cabbit. (by the way, I'm 2/3 Filipino, and It would be an insult to myslef if I didn't learn the martial culture of my heritage!!)

Master Rey Galang is heading the Bakbakan WHQ in lodim NJ. I don't think you can get much better that, whetn it comes to FMA. Though Rick Tucci's schools is probably great too. especially if you are interested in other MA as well...

Sure thing:

The Kali Knife training is taught in the Kali classes alongside the other 12 main areas of kali.

Kali knife consists of
Single knife
double knife
double-bladed knife
Empty hands vs knife
Espada Y Daga (Sword and Dagger)

We do a fair amount of sparring as well.

Also included in the classes are stickwork, staff, empty hands, and more, much much more...

The curriculum changes each class and there's so much to learn that you'll never get bored.

The Kali classes are offered on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Dan Inosanto also usually holds seminars at PAMA annually as well so there's a good chance that you'll have the opportunuty to train under him as well.

All of the classes offered by PAMA are included in the price, so not only will you be able to train in Kali, but also in Silat (Highly recomended and also includes Flexible weapons), JKD, Muay Thai, Grapping and Savate.

Give em a call to set up an appointment to attend a class. Tuesday and Saturday are usually the best to attend for a first time.

If you stop by, say hi. I'm the fat guy in the back of the class.

Cabbit...thankyou so much for the info. I'll definitely have to stop in. About how much are classes anyway?

Best to ask the instructors on that, I've been training there for a few years so I don't know what the current rate is.

Hey Cabbit, I'll be there this Saturday...I spoke to Max a few days ago and he went over some things with me. Can't wait...Thanks again.

Looking forward to meeting you!

Hey Cabbit...I just wanted to thank you for introducing me to the academy. It was intimidating at first, but I really enjoyed it. I feel I learned so much in just that short period. Anyway, I signed up, and I will be back next Saturday. Thanks again.

Awesome man, it was great to see you there. It can be a little intimidating at first, but there's a great group of folks there and you'll have a lot of fun too!

And like you said, there's a lot to learn!
