Hey gang, new guy here...

Anyone know if NIC NAC is still doing business? I bought something from them a few years back - all went perfectly fine & I was happy. I'm in the market for something else now so I naturally thought of NIC NAC first. I've emailed them once - got their automated reply. That was three days ago. I've called twice but just get their phone mail. I've left polite, to-the-point messages but haven't heard back.

Still a legit outfit?
 
I don't know if they are in business today, but I ordered from them about 2 months ago.

I've ordered from them twice this year, and I was very happy with both orders.

Here's one experience in particular that is noteworthy-

I ordered a rare, hard to find knife. The knife was made in a variety of handle materials, with some models being more expensive than others. I ordered the least expensive model.

Two days after placing my order I received an email from Nic Nac apologizing to me and saying that the knife I ordered was out of stock. My credit card had already been charged, and I was told that I could either have a refund, or I could have the more expensive model of the knife at no extra charge. I jumped at the chance to get the more expensive knife.

I was very pleased with how they handled their mistake (listing a knife in stock that was not in stock). I would not hesitate to order from Nic Nac again (as long as they are still in business).

There could be a variety of reasons why you haven't heard from them. I believe it is a two person operation (man and wife) and they could be on vacation, or have family/personal issues, etc, etc.
 
They send me enough sales emails, i expect they are still in business. They have always been bad on email responses ime. Try calling them
 
I've tried calling them in order to place an order for a new knife...two times...still haven't heard back from them.

I'm also on their email list ... never get anything from them though.
 
weird.....don't know what to say, i've ordered through their website* multiple times over many years and no major issues really. have you tried that? after all you are protected using a credit card if they send you nothing.



*i know their website is horrible for smart phones and in general.
 
I have also placed orders via their website in the past. Everything went perfectly in those cases. I'm hesitant to place my new order because they are the only folks who seem to show the WALTS knife that I'm after as "In Stock". None of the other on-line sellers I generally check have what I'm looking for - but NICNAC does have it. That's what's keeping me from just placing the order - what are the odds that NICNAC would be the only outfit to have a plain ol' black horn 11" WALTS in stock? ...ya know what I mean?
 
yes Sir. i get it now. could always place it, if it's out of stock and they haven't updated their site you can get a refund. if they have it, you get it. not the greatest plan, but with a credit card very low risk.
