Hi BF, my first post so hopefully I'm in the right forum. My experience with knives to date consists of a Benchmade 470 Emissary that's my edc and nothing else so I'm hoping for a little help.

I've been tasked with helping my sister who recently lost her husband. Among his possessions were a two Eickhorns and I'm trying to figure a couple of things out. One appears to be a Colt branded edition of the FK500. There's lots of pictures online of similar Eickhorns but I couldn't find any with the Colt logo. Is this still considered an FK500 or was there a different model number assigned to the Colts?

Second thing is a little more sensitive. The second knife is a Colt branded LL80 which is something the authorities don't approve of in the nanny state in which I live. How do you suggest I go about selling it? I'm not concerned so much with shipping it as I am with listing it, even though either act runs me afoul of the law. If I put it on Ebay would the authorities come pay me a visit? I don't know how closely auction sites are watched. Craigslist is probably scrutinized more than Ebay so that's out, and someone wandering into my garage sale would offer me $5. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Or buy a gold membership and sell it here;)

Yeah, but I wouldn't know if I'm being contacted by a LEO or not. I guess I'm being a little paranoid, it's not like I'm selling a weapon of mass destruction, but I don't need any problems. My wife suggested I turn it in to the police. I'm guessing if I did that it would just end up in the possession of one of our fine local sheriffs.

Nobody's going out hunting for one guy selling one gravity knife...we've got a whole section in the exchange for Automatics and such. Never had a problem buying or selling in almost 15 years here:) Plus, if you have a gold membership you can receive honest value estimates from some of the most knowledgeable collectors in the world:thumbsup:

Thanks Chip and Jeremy for the replies. Becoming a Gold member here seems to be a good value, especially for someone like me that needs some educating.
